Our History
Shafi and Irfan Law Associates trading as SILA Solicitors is a unique multi-Jurisdictional law firm having actual physical presence in both England & Wales as well as Pakistan providing specialist services to its clients.
The firm was initially set up in Pakistan in 1978 by Sheikh Muhammad Shafi who was a renowned judge. After his death the firm was succeeded by his son Irfan Sheikh who being advocate of high courts and supreme court had appeared in more than 11,000 cases in the higher courts.
The firm was authorised to practice in England and Wales in 2012 by Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA ID597353) and has been a licenced practice since then.
The Pakistan office was subsequently converted into British Overseas Practice which has been duly authorised by Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA ID640526).
The firm provides specialist services to its clients in both countries and is a particularly helpful link to those clients who while based in England and Wales need legal support or services in Pakistan or vice versa.
The firm can help in initiating proceedings or progressing legal interests such as conduct of litigation regarding property matters in Pakistan through our overseas practice or claiming and recovering inheritance rights in the inherited assets and properties to name a few.

Overseas office in Pakistan
We have an overseas office that is recognised by the SRA. This is located in Lahore, Pakistan. This office has a team of well known local lawyers who are experts in civil, financial, banking, inheritance and land laws.
